I brought these on a three month backpacking trip, and it was nice not
to have to worry about underwear. The string bikini is my favorite
ExOfficio underwear; I've also tried their Lacy Low-Rise. These are
truly low-rise and won't show over low-rise bottoms while the lacy ones
will. They are lightweight, very easy to clean by hand, and dry very
quickly; I washed them while I was in the shower.
I wore them for up to
three days when necessary with no problem. They run true to size. I had
only two problems: pantiliners and pads do not stick to this quick-dry
material, and they tended to retain a crotch smell (ladies know what I
mean) even after handwashing.
I never found a solution to the first
problem, but the smell issue seemed to be mitigated by letting the
underwear soak and then intense scrubbing, but this isn't always
possible in hostels or on the road.
